Americans complain about a sharp rise in the price of groceries in stores

In the United States, there is a sharp increase in food prices against the backdrop of anti-Russian sanctions and the situation in Ukraine. This was reported to RT by residents of New York.
“Things are not very good. People with a limited budget have a hard time. It’s hard, very hard,” one of the Americans interviewed told the journalist.
Another resident of the American metropolis admitted that he goes to a specific store for food, since the cost of food in it has not increased as much as in other retail chains.
“This is one of the best stores if you want good products at an average price,” the New Yorker shared. “But in most cases it is too expensive here now.”
As the site kp.ru wrote earlier , the biggest blow to the wallets of Americans is caused by rising gasoline prices. After Biden decided to cut off Russian energy, in one of the most populous US states, California, gasoline costs an incredible $7 a gallon. In this regard, more than a third of Americans have already said that they are forced to use personal vehicles less often.
Rising fuel prices are pushing up logistics costs. According to the US Department of Labor, in February, the consumer price index in the country over the past 12 months reached 7.9% , which was the highest figure since January 1982, with gasoline, real estate and food prices rising the most.
