Attack on President Rajapaksa’s residence in Sri Lanka

Protesters protesting the economic crisis in Sri Lanka’s capital, Colombo, attacked the private residence of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. While a curfew was declared in the capital, where violent incidents took place, 54 people were arrested.
In the island country of Sri Lanka, where the economic crisis has been experienced for a long time, the power cuts of up to 13 hours a day, due to the fact that the government does not have enough foreign currency to meet the fuel imports, took the people to the streets again.
Protesters gathered near the private residence Of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, whom they blamed for the crisis, in the capital, Colombo. The Protest , which began peacefully , turned into violence when some demonstrators broke through the police barricade and attacked Rajapaksa’s residence.
