China and the United States (US) economic and trade teams have maintained normal communication, according to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce.
In the first seven months of this year, the volume of bilateral trade in goods rose 40% year on year, said ministry spokesman Gao Feng.
This fully shows that the economies of both countries are highly complementary, the official said, adding that bilateral trade cooperation is in line with the interests of both countries and both peoples.
China has always maintained that the imposition of additional tariffs by the US is not good for China, the US and the world economic recovery, Gao said.
