Finally, the Russian Defense Minister came out in public

After a long period of secrecy, a video of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu appeared. A video released by the Defense Ministry on Saturday shows him chairing a meeting of the military and discussing arms supplies. After more than two weeks, he was seen at a public event.
In a video message posted on social media, Sergei Shoigu said he had discussed issues related to the military budget and defense discipline with the finance ministry.
Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu is overseeing Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine. He said arms supplies had been discussed within the stipulated time. Issues related to the preparation of long-range missiles, aircraft equipment and strategic nuclear forces capable of hitting specific targets were discussed.
The meeting was attended by several top Russian military officials. Chief of General Staff Valery Jerasimov was also present.
Shoigu, 8, took over the ministry of defense in Russia in 2012. He is known to be close to President Vladimir Putin. He was last seen in public on March 11. Rumors of his apparent absence during the ‘special military operation’ began.
