German farmers warned of an unprecedented jump in food prices in the country

The German Farmers’ Association reported an “unprecedented jump” in food prices. The Spiegel edition writes about this , referring to the organization’s document.
“According to the document, agriculture, as well as the entire food chain, is facing a huge increase in costs, especially in the areas of energy, fuel, fertilizer and logistics,” the report said.
It is also added that the association called on Berlin to take action.
Earlier, Focus magazine reported that food and goods prices rose sharply in Germany due to sanctions against Russia. In particular, prices were raised by large retail chains – Rewe, Aldi and Lidl. For example, the cost of sunflower oil increased by 100%, noodles – 40%, mineral water, coffee and toilet paper – 10%. The publication recommended that Germans buy only seasonal fruits and vegetables, follow promotions and discounts, and drink tap water.
