The Russian military is focusing its attacks on the eastern regions of Ukraine, said Olexiy Arestovych, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to him, there were airstrikes in the cities of Mariupol, Kharkiv and Chernihiv.
In addition to the arms industry, residential areas were also affected, he said, while Russia denies attacking civilians.
The “enemy” is trying to turn Chernihiv into a second Mariupol, said Arestovych.
The city of Mariupol has been severely destroyed in recent weeks, and Chernihiv can still be reached by land.
“Residents can leave the city,” he said.
Presidential Adviser Volodymyr Zelensky expects heavy fighting to continue in eastern Ukraine.
Ukrainian troops have recaptured more than 30 villages around Kiev.
Following talks with Ukraine, Russia had agreed on Tuesday to significantly reduce its combat operations near Kiev and Chernihiv.
