The Network is discussing a new draft law on taxis, which was proposed by the Ministry of Transport. It can be accepted to the State Duma for consideration if a positive conclusion is given by other ministries.
The item that generated the most interest on the Internet concerns the obligation of taxi services to transfer data to the authorities automatically. Taxi services are called aggregators and taxi companies that have their own application for ordering a car.
Probably information about what data will be transmitted will be specified additionally. Now the draft only states that it should be “data used to receive, store, process and transmit orders for a passenger taxi.”
– It is not very clear what is surprising in this news. The bill, which is currently undergoing interdepartmental coordination, does establish a number of obligations for aggregators. In particular, information about trips, drivers, cars will be transmitted to regional navigation and information systems. Accordingly, it does not matter at all whether law enforcement agencies will have access to such information. The state will still have it, – commented on the news the vice-president of the National Automobile Union, a member of the public council at the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Moscow Anton Shaparin .
Shaparin clarified that government agencies are already requesting data from taxi services and receiving them.
