The governor of Ukraine’s Donetsk region, Pavlo Kirilenko, said on Saturday that the southeastern city of Volnovakha had been completely destroyed in the attack since the start of the Russian operation.
Governor Pavlo Kirilenko said most residents of Volnovakha had fled since the Russian invasion began. Most of the city’s infrastructure has been destroyed. This means that the city is virtually non-existent.
The governor told Ukrainian TV channel Direct: “Generally speaking, it is no longer a city with infrastructure. But he also said that fighting was still going on in the strategically important city to prevent the siege of Russian troops.
Vulnovakha has been the target of massive shelling, rocket and air strikes for several days. Almost every building in the city has been destroyed.
