Ukraine admits 1,300 Ukrainian soldiers killed

At least 1,300 Ukrainian troops have been killed in the first 18 days of Russian aggression in Ukraine. This information was given by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky at a press conference in Kiev on Saturday. The BBC, a UK-based news outlet, reported the news in a report.
According to Western sources, about 6,000 Russian soldiers were killed at the same time.
However, the BBC reports that they have not been able to independently verify the number of soldiers killed by the Ukrainian president.
Ukraine’s military says a senior Russian military official has been killed. The officer, identified as Major General Andrei Kolesnikov, was the commander of the 29th Army in Russia’s Eastern Military Division. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. Russia has not commented on the matter.
At least three military officials have been killed since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
